Madi

Pet Care Technician

Madi brings a rare blend of hands-on experience, behavioral insight, and deep emotional connection to her work with animals. Before joining Paws Around Motown, she spent two years in the pet retail world, gaining extensive knowledge in pet nutrition and care for a wide variety of species. She later served as a Team Lead and Enrichment Specialist in dog boarding, where she learned to confidently support animals with all kinds of temperaments, from gentle seniors to high-energy pups and sensitive pets that need a softer touch.

With additional training experience—including time spent in a professional training environment and the successful training of her own psychiatric service dog, Honey—Madi has a strong foundation in positive reinforcement and respectful, dog-centric communication. She also holds her Pet First Aid & CPR certification, ensuring safety and preparedness on every visit.

For Madi, caring for animals is more than a job—it’s a lifelong calling. The moment she met a dog as a young child, she knew she wanted animals to be part of her daily life. When she finally welcomed her beloved Honey into her world, everything shifted. Honey helped her see life with more clarity, more purpose, and more joy, inspiring her commitment to supporting the human–animal bond for others. Madi cherishes the privilege of earning an animal’s trust and considers it an honor to help pets feel safe, understood, and genuinely valued.

One of her favorite activities is trick training. She loves watching pets light up as they begin to understand a new behavior—the tiny tail wags, the spark of recognition, the moment the pieces click. For her, watching an animal learn is nothing short of magic.

At home, Madi’s heart belongs to Honey, her sweet, clever, delightfully stubborn 8-year-old Bichon–Poodle mix. Honey loves squeaky toys, adores treats, and shows unwavering loyalty once she decides you’re in her circle.

Madi’s philosophy is grounded in empathy and respect:
“Pets deserve patience, respect, and genuine understanding. They’re not just animals—they’re family, and they trust us with everything.”
She believes great pet care blends structure with heart, and she approaches every animal with calm energy, curiosity, and a commitment to meeting them exactly where they are.

Fun fact: Madi never goes anywhere without her fanny pack—and she keeps extra slip leads and treats in her car at all times, just in case a pet needs a little extra support or encouragement.
